What's up everyone, I'm Brian from Connecticut, USA. No, I'm not the Ninja Brian from the band Ninja *** Party, I'm just some guy who really likes S3rl :D

A couple weeks back, I came across my first S3rl song and I've been hooked ever since. I've never been into electronic music of any kind (always preferred metal and punk rock, nothing electronic), but I liked S3rl's stuff so much that I thought that I'd like to start making happy hardcore music myself. After all, I'm already versed with guitar and drum playing.

The thing is, I had no idea how deep the EDM scene actually was, and how complex the music can be. I looked it up and there's like thirteen different types of "hardcore" edm subgenres. It's a little intimidating. I mean I could tell you how to define every type of metal music but I'm at a loss when it comes to EDM right now. Meh, I guess in time I'll figure it out!

So I guess if anybody has any music recommendations for me, anything to get me some musical inspiration would be awesome. So far I really like S3rl and Scott Brown. I'm looking forward to talking with everyone here! So please tell me a little bit about yourself if you end up replying.

Hello fellow (ex?) metalhead :D I think you should check out Moog, if you want something more calm (it isn't hardcore, just electro/techno, to fond him type "Moog MCM"), older hardcore examples are Scooter, maybe Italobrothers from something slower again, and you should really check out Manian for typical hardcore, i hope it helps :D

EDIT: Looool, i really forgot about Basshunter he makes awesome music!

Hey NinjaBrian, welcome to the site :p

Since you like metal i would recommend Hardstyle :p
People like Psyko Punkz, Gammer, make some greater songs :p

Also i really like Darwin too, but his songs aren't as hard.

But any HappyHardcore (HHC) or Hardstyle is always great to me!

You should also check this thread out https://forum.djs3rl.com/threads/what-is-hardstyle-also-my-favs-3.131/

Your also lucky you have skills, unlike me! "After all, I'm already versed with guitar and drum playing."

Hope to see you around, if you ever have any questions i am here! :h: :p

Hi Ormmwar, nope I'm still a metalhead, I've been a fan for over 8 years and that isn't stopping anytime soon!

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll listen to moog, manian and basshunter tomorrow as per your suggestion. I'll see you around!

What's up superman? ;)

Thanks for the suggestions man, I haven't heard any hardstyle yet but this is all new to me, after all. I'll check out those artists tomorrow.
You should try playing musical instruments, it's good for you! Have you ever made any music yourself? Even without physical instruments?

Oh god. Hello. I love music. Love sharing music. Love music. We have so many threads on here that can help you explore new music options: https://forum.djs3rl.com/#music.1

Personally, if you like S3RL and Scott Brown, I would recommend people like Al Storm, VinylGroover, Brisk, Dj Splash, Venom, Hixxy, Dune, Trixxy, CLSM, Sharkey, Darren Styles Breeze, Marc Smith, Force, Kevin Energy, Storm, Re-Con, Dougal, and Gammer (as a team, they do very well). I'd also recommend literally hundreds more. I love talking about music, it's literally all I ever do. Go check the threads and these people! Welcome to the scene! :)

What is your favorite S3RL and Scott Brown song? there's a thread somewhere with all my fav S3RL songs but for scott mine would have to either be Fly With You or Elysium. :)

AND YOU'RE FROM CT?!?! HOW OLD ARE YOU, I promote all across the east coast and can send you tons of invites to raves and events happening every month. I'm from MA! Events here are super diverse. I hope to see you go out! :)

so much muussssic :h: I'm always happy to share

This is mainly a lot of oldskool/hhc/uk hardcore. Other genres I really like are gabber, frenchcore, jump style, eurobeat, big room house, drum and bass, Melbourne bounce, acid house, and techno. There's so many styles of dance music.

My name is Nicole, I am a raver on the east coast and love the scene. I work as a graphic designer/ web designer currently in school but am trying to work for people like Q-Dance or HTID one day because I literally refuse to work for a job I don't give a damn about lol. I help out with sound and lighting at events and also do setup/breakdown weekly for a lot of people. Umm that's me!

Hey what's up Kiki! I really appreciate all the suggestions you've given me, some other people have recommended these hits and some other, similar ones :) I'm really liking the EDM scene, it's not what I expected it to be and I love it.

YOU CAN SEND ME SOME INVITES TO RAVES AND STUFF?? I'm 20 years old and I'll be 21 in February, and I'd love to go to my first rave! I have no idea what it'd be like, I've only gone to metal concerts before. I'm dying to check it out! Yes, please let me know if something in the area is coming up, and I have no issue with driving 2 - 3 hours to go to an event, so if it's in MA, NY, NJ, wherever, that's cool :) I'll send you a PM with my email address so you can add me to the Email list of events that you promote. Very cool job you got, I bet it must be fun being a promoter/show organizer ;) Thanks for the warm welcome, Kiki

Send away! Welcome to the east coast rave fam! Let me pull together my resources :)

I love new ravers! I can't wait to meet you! I'll be sure to bring kandi! Your first rave will be MAGICAL.

Also since Superman suggested hardstyle, I'd give Angerfist, Wasted Penginez, Da Tweekaz, and Brennan Heart a shot too.
